About the Recipe

Hydration is about more than simply drinking water. During exercise and throughout the day, your body also relies on electrolytes like sodium and potassium to support normal fluid balance, muscle function, and overall hydration. This refreshing homemade electrolyte drink uses simple ingredients to create a naturally flavored beverage that's perfect after a workout, during hot summer days, or whenever you want a flavorful alternative to plain water.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups filtered water

  • Juice of ½ lemon

  • Juice of ½ lime

  • 1 tablespoon raw honey (optional)

  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt

  • Splash of coconut water (optional)

  • Ice

  • Fresh mint leaves

Preparation

Step 1

Add the water, lemon juice, lime juice, honey, and sea salt to a large glass or shaker bottle.

Step 2

Stir or shake until the honey and salt have completely dissolved.

Step 3

Step 4

Garnish with fresh mint and enjoy immediately.
